BTS’ Jungkook’s lookalike contest set to take place in the US; Fans already have a winner

BTS’ Jungkook’s popularity knows no bounds. The K-pop idol is currently busy fulfilling his mandatory military service but he keeps making headlines every day for multiple reasons. It was recently announced that a lookalike competition for Jungkook will be held this weekend in the US. Yes, you’ve read it right.

Jungkook is the first BTS member to have a lookalike contest in the US. According to the X account ‘Kpop Charts’, the competition will take place at Ping Tom Park in Chicago on November 24. The winner will get a cash prize of $20 along with a bottle of soju.

Fans are reacting to the news. A fan wrote on X, “Whatyyy.” Another one quipped, “winner gets to replace him in military.” An ARMY joined the fun saying, “I hope we can replace Jungkook with the winner going to the military.”

Well, some fans have already picked a winner. Fans shared photos of South Korean actor Shim Hyung-tak’s wife, Saya Hirai, and declared her as the winner. Many have called her Jungkook’s twin in the past.

Jungkook enlisted in the military in December 2023 and will be discharged in 2025.
