Apple is reportedly preparing to introduce its inaugural MacBook Pro model featuring an OLED display within the next few years, as indicated by a recent report. The existing MacBook lineup from the Cupertino-based company currently utilizes Mini-LED screens, which are anticipated to be succeeded by OLED technology in the near future.

Additionally, the MacBook Air is expected to receive an OLED display approximately one year after the Pro models are launched. This year marked the first upgrade for Apple’s tablets, with the introduction of the iPad Pro (2024) featuring an OLED screen. A tipster known as Jukanlosreve (@Jukanlosreve) has shared a timeline for the anticipated release of upcoming MacBook and iPad models extending to 2030, claiming the information was derived from market research firm Omdia.

According to this timeline, the next Apple computer to incorporate an OLED display will be a MacBook Pro model projected for release in 2026. This model is expected to be available in display sizes of 14.3 inches and 16.3 inches, featuring a Hybrid OLED screen.

Unlike the Mini-LED display found in the current generation, the 2026 MacBook Pro is not expected to include a display notch. However, it remains unclear whether the device will incorporate a Dynamic Island feature akin to that of the iPhone 15 models.

The leaked timeline also suggests that the MacBook Air will be upgraded to an OLED display in 2027, featuring a Hybrid OLED panel in sizes of 13.8 inches and 15.5 inches, although it will still retain a display notch. Earlier this year, Apple upgraded the iPad Pro with a Tandem OLED panel, and the iPad Air is anticipated to follow suit in 2026 with an 8.4-inch Hybrid OLED screen and a refresh rate of 60Hz.

This may be succeeded by a standard model featuring a Hybrid OLED panel in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes in 2027, also with a 60Hz refresh rate. A year later, an enhanced version of the iPad Pro with an improved OLED display in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes could be launched.
