An anticipated iteration of the Magic Mouse featuring voice control for artificial intelligence has been deemed plausible by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. However, he noted that he has not encountered any rumors regarding this feature thus far.
A report from the Korean leaker known as “yeux1222” indicated this morning that Apple has developed a prototype Magic Mouse that integrates touch, voice controls, and hand gestures.

Gurman remarked on social media that such functionality aligns well with the advancements in AI, yet he also stated that the rumor appears to be a “misinterpretation” of a statement from a report he shared earlier in December concerning a future version of the Magic Mouse.
It remains uncertain whether the rumor from yeux1222 is derived from Gurman’s original report; nonetheless, Gurman clarified today that Apple intends to prioritize a more ergonomic design and unspecified gesture capabilities for the updated mouse.
Should voice control be incorporated into the next Magic Mouse, it could facilitate interactions with Apple Intelligence, allowing users to invoke Siri or execute specific tasks through voice commands. Gurman suggested that, although there may not be an immediate application for this feature given that Macs already support voice functionalities, a relevant use case could emerge within the next five to ten years.
The inclusion of voice control in the Magic Mouse could serve as a measure for future-proofing, considering the lengthy update cycle.
To date, Apple has not frequently refreshed the Magic Mouse, with no significant updates since the introduction of the Magic Mouse 2 in 2019, aside from new color options and the transition from a Lightning port to a USB-C port. Earlier this month, Gurman indicated that Apple is planning a comprehensive redesign of the Magic Mouse, featuring a more contemporary aesthetic.
