Speculation suggests that the budget-friendly Apple Vision headset may be priced around $2,000, in contrast to the $3,499 price tag of the Apple Vision Pro. This model is anticipated to feature a less powerful chip and lower-resolution displays compared to its premium counterpart.

According to Bloomberg’s findings, the more economical headset is likely to forgo certain technologies present in the Apple Vision Pro, including the Eyesight feature, which utilized a lenticular display on the exterior of the headset to allow others to view the wearer’s eyes.

The lower-cost Apple Vision is expected to be equipped with an A-series chip, similar to those found in upcoming iPhone models, rather than the M2 chip that powers the Apple Vision Pro. Additionally, it is reasonable to expect that this version will incorporate lighter materials to reduce the overall weight on the user’s head.

A successor to the existing Apple Vision Pro is anticipated to launch concurrently with a more affordable Apple Vision model. This strategy will enable Apple to provide consumers interested in an AR/VR headset with a variety of features and pricing options.

Reports suggest that Apple expects to sell twice as many units of the Apple Vision headset compared to the Apple Vision Pro, attributed to its lower price point. Development is ongoing for a second iteration of the Apple Vision Pro, with the primary hardware enhancement expected to involve a processor upgrade.

Both models are projected to be released sometime in 2026. Additionally, Apple is reportedly engaged in a project focused on augmented-reality “smart glasses” in conjunction with the Apple Vision and Apple Vision Pro headsets.
