Apple has unveiled a major enhancement to the iPad mini, which now incorporates the A17 Pro chip and compatibility with the new Apple Intelligence system. The updated seventh-generation tablet retains its sleek 8.3-inch form factor while delivering substantial performance upgrades and additional features.

The A17 Pro chip offers a 30% enhancement in CPU performance and a 25% improvement in GPU performance relative to its predecessor, as stated by Apple.
Additionally, the new iPad mini now supports the Apple Pencil Pro, which features pressure sensitivity, haptic feedback, and gesture controls. Other advancements include support for Wi-Fi 6E, accelerated USB-C data transfer, and an enhanced 12MP wide camera equipped with Smart HDR 4.
Apple Intelligence introduces enhanced writing tools, image generation capabilities, and improved task automation. This system employs a combination of on-device processing and cloud-based models to optimize both performance and privacy.
The initial features of Apple Intelligence will be accessible in U.S. English this month via a complimentary software update with iPadOS 18.1.
The new iPad mini, offered in four colors including the newly introduced blue and purple, starts at $499 for the 128GB Wi-Fi model, which provides double the minimum storage of its predecessor. The Wi-Fi + Cellular variant is priced at $649. Additionally, the new iPad mini is available in 256GB and 512GB storage options.

Pre-orders commence today, with products becoming available on October 23. Additionally, a new Smart Folio is offered in charcoal gray, light violet, denim, and sage, priced at $59.
