Andrew Garfield first played Peter Parker in the 2012 film ‘The Amazing Spider-Man‘ and its 2014 sequel. In 2021, he reprised his role in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home‘. The John Watts directorial also starred the OG Spider-Man i.e. Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland. Now that Holland-starrer ‘Spider-Man 4‘ is on the cards, fans want to know whether Garfield and Maguire will return in the upcoming film.
Speaking to Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Andrew was asked about it and he gave a vague reply. The actor said, “Yeah, yeah, of course, it’s not an unfounded… Your assumption is not unfounded. If I was in your position I can imagine going, ‘Yeah, he’s probably had conversations, too.'”
When asked what could be his Spider-Man’s potential story arc, he dodged the question, saying, “I understand in your position you’re going to be wondering if, because it was such a success, you’d kind of go, ‘Well, they must be talking about it.'”
When the actor refused to spill any beans, Horowitz asked the Oscar-nominated actor whether he should bet on him reprising his role. He responded, “This feels a little tantamount to illegal, kind of insider trading. No matter what I said, I could be held liable for that, and so I’m going to decline to comment.”
In an earlier interview with Esquire, Garfield expressed interest in reprising his role as Spider-Man. However, he added that the story has to be ‘unique, odd, and exciting’.
The upcoming Spider-Man film does not yet have a release date.

On the other hand, Andrew recently delivered a terrific performance in John Crowley’s ‘We Live In Time‘, co-starring Florence Pugh.
